Consulting Directors was formed in 2015 as a direct result of the desire to utilise the wealth of knowledge and experience gained by us, Guy Willans and Julie Buchan, on our individual, varied and exciting career journeys.

This enables us to offer three, often complementary, activities:

Coaching - Both Guy and Julie can work alongside leaders and leadership teams to help them prioritise properly and improve the way they lead their businesses. Focussing in on the 4 key components of business: People, Cash, Strategy, and Delivery.

Consulting - Both Julie and Guy can work alongside leaders to provide a wide range of expert advice and help to SME and MME businesses, acting in a consulting capacity around operations and the full spectrum of business activities.

Raising finance - Guy, using his long-standing financial services experience, can help deliver the best funding solutions for companies needing to raise finance.

Together we have considerable operational, financial, leadership, strategic / tactical ability and general business knowledge to complement and support owner managers and boards.

Guy Willans

Consulting Director and Principal

A long-standing COO of growing global financial technology companies and a senior leader in one of the world's leading banks . He has led all aspects of business, working strategically and operationally with boards and CEOs, with global exposure. He has had hands on personal experience of the highs and lows, challenges and opportunities of scaling businesses.

Highly experienced at understanding businesses, their operations, sales, finances and working capital needs. Guy has led financial services teams looking after thousands of businesses of all sizes and across all sectors.

Guy has worked for HSBC, HM Forces, dotcoms, fintechs and a number of MME / SME businesses.

Julie Buchan

Consulting Director and Principal

An experienced blue-chip leader with multinational corporate experience in electronics, telecoms, food and drinks and a specialism in working with technical functions. Julie has a degree in Electronic Material Engineering from the University of Nottingham.

Highly knowledgeable about new product development, R&D, manufacturing, legal, environmental and regulatory aspects of packaging and exporting globally.

Julie is a highly skilled facilitator and has considerable skill in getting teams to interact collaboratively and function at a higher level.

Julie has worked for Racal, Nokia, Britvic , Mars and in the Public Sector.

Funding Solutions Limited

We work with Funding Solutions on raising debt

Guy is a member of the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) regulated Funding Solutions team, delivering superior advice and solutions for clients raising finance across the UK. Funding Solutions was formed in 2006 and has a wealth of experience and contacts across financial services.

Just Leasing Limited

We work with Just Leasing for vehicle leasing

Guy is a member of the Just Leasing team, delivering superior advice on vehicle finance for clients in the UK. Just Leasing Limited will provide the best possible leasing solutions with excellent customer service for car and van solutions.
